LG Display Company announced the beginning of mass production of LCD panels at the eighth-generation production line at the plant Padzhu in Korea. The new line is able to produce substrates with dimensions of 2200 x 2500 mm, which will be used to build the 32 -, 47 - and 55-inch television panels. At present, the factory can produce 20 thousand per month of glass substrates. LG Display will increase issuance of market demand. It was expected that by the end of this year in the new line will be up to 83 thousand sheets per month. LG Display expects that the launch of the new eighth-generation line will increase the profitability of the release of TV panels and maximize the efficiency of investment. According to the company DisplaySearch, the market LCD TVs will actively grow in the coming years. As expected, this year will be shipped 134 million TV panels in 2011 - already 181 million, or 35% more.
