HP has ordered production of 18 million notebooks in 2009

   The company Hewlett-Packard has completed a schedule of orders for the production of laptops from Taiwanese manufacturers for the next year - reported industry sources. The total volume of orders is 17-18 million units, it covers a device the size of medium and large format screen 16:9, with a predominance of 15, 6 models, which will amount to more than 45%. It is also reported that HP plans to sell in 2009, 37-38 million notebooks, including a segment 15, 6 will be 22-24%.
Most of the consumer notebook PCs will be made by Quanta Computer, while the suppliers of large-15, 6 models of the corporate class will be Compal Electronics and Inventec. In quantitative terms, the bulk of the orders in 2009, HP will have to share Compal. Quanta, in turn, will produce most of the 15, 6 models with LED backlit matrix of a series of Voodoo. In the list of contractors is also Wistron, but there will be only a few 15, 4 models with illumination on the basis of fluorescent lamps, cold cathode - sources reported.
According to IDC, the volume of shipments of notebooks from HP in the first three quarters this year amounted to 21, 65 million units, of which 9, 3 million had to share models of enterprise-class, and 12 million - in the consumer segment.
