infineon x-gold sdr 20 - universal chipset for satellite and cellular communications   The company Infineon Technologies in conjunction with SkyTerra and TerreStar Networks said at the conference of CTIA WIRELESS 2009 to develop a platform based on multistandartnoy Technologies SDR (software - defined-radio, radio, custom software). The platform called XMM SDR 200 would allow to create universal mobile terminals to operate in networks like the satellite, and wireless communication technologies including GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA, HSUPA and GMR1-2G/3G.
SDR-chipset from Infineon is made up of processor X-Gold SDR 20 and transceiver family Smarti. The developers note, compact form factor chipset, comparable with the filling of modern cell phone, as well as the cost of comparable solutions. The first samples of the platform will be available in the third quarter of 2009.
