Specifically for automotive audio systems, the Japanese company NEC Electronics has developed a new SoC-chip (System-on-Chip) μPD35502, which has high productivity. That chip has enough capacity to support the simultaneous playback of different tones from different sources and in different directions, allowing passengers in the front and rear seats independently enjoy your favorite music. For the rapid integration of new development in the finished system, NEC offers a complete package including modern popular audio codecs such as MP3, WMA, AAC and others. SoC-chip equipped with an embedded USB interface and SD, which lets you play music from external USB-devices and SD memory cards. It also supports Bluetooth. Samples μPD35502 chip is already available to partner companies, but in early September this year to start mass production.
