SiRF and Qualcomm entered into a patent agreement

   Company SiRF Technology Holdings, on the one hand, and Qualcomm, on the other hand, signed an agreement under which the partners share their GPS-patents. This would allow, according to the official representatives of SiRF, greatly expanded range of products, GPS-services as well as enhance the competitiveness of their own decisions.
SiRF Technology has at its disposal a fairly extensive portfolio, which includes hundreds of patents used in a large number of applications, as well as more than 370 additional patents set ideas which have yet to be realized. Note that a significant portion of them SiRF Technology gained by absorbing GPS-unit Conexant and Motorola.
The company Qualcomm is one of the largest suppliers of integrated circuits with GPS-support functions for portable electronic devices. Already, since 2000, the manufacturer offers microchips monopolosnoy data with built GSP-module, thus, the company has gained tremendous experience in developing solutions to deal with global positioning system.
